The whole entire day was to die for! We are still shook from it.

Busy Phillips Reveals She Makes More from Instagram than She Does From Acting

The former Cougar Town actress says these days, she makes the bulk off her earnings off social media, not on acting gigs.

Although she recognizes some fans won’t be thrilled with celebs who have “sold out” their Instagram page for sponsors, Busy Phillips said “I gotta be honest with you, I didn’t make a ton of money as an actor last year. I made more of my money doing that kind of stuff, like the partnerships with brands.”

“I’m not above it, guys,” the “Vice Principals” actress said in a video on Thursday, April 27. “I just only choose things that I genuinely like and, like, would want to partner with, like, for instance, my Michaels [craft store] partnership, which, you know, is my favourite thing of all time. And I’m doing one next week, I think, that feels like me.”

On the one hand, no shame in the game. Get your coins however you can, there are bills to pay. On the other hand, it speaks volumes as to the scarcity of good roles for smart women in Hollywood. And that’s a shame. We need more Busy Phillipses in ours lives.

HBO producer Sheila Nevins’ new book of entertaining and “sometimes silly” essays, poetry, and stories on aging, facelifts, dieting, Viagra, menopause and other topics is the must-read book of the coming summer season.

As great a read as it is, though, Nevins has said that she would prefer we listen to the audio version, in which she enlisted an A-list roster of narrators that includes AAA-list stars like Meryl Streep, Lena Dunham and Gloria Vanderbilt.

Of all of the things I saw and shot at DragCon, this one will stick with me forever. Marek & Richard‘s booth was manned this lovely creature and at some point at the end of the day on Sunday their model and social media maven, Jake decided to put on just the head and furry hands and shake it to the delight of the crowd. (If you want to know what he looks like outside of the head, see below. Cute!) Well, since I posted, it’s gotten nearly 600,000 views on Instagram and shows no signs of slowing up. AS I said in the post, it somehow sums up all of DragCon in one clip. It’s fun, funny, sexy, unashamed, delightfully weird, ridiculous, colorful and a total joy to behold. If this doesn’t entertain you, check your pulse.

Pop culture junkies, are you excited for Andy Cohen’s Then & Now?

We can hardly contain ourselves. Not only is it already May 1, but the second season of Andy Cohen‘s Then & Now is premiering in two days. TWO. DAYS! We’re brimming with excitement over all the juicy tidbits the guests will be sitting down to discuss with Andy.

Luckily the first episode of the season centers around the incredibly memorable year of 1997. A much simpler time where Tamagotchis were around, that orange glob wasn’t the President, and Princess Diana was still alive, for most of the year at least.

During the hour-long episode, Andy will be sitting down with Amber Rose, Aisha Tyler, RuPaul, Rosie Perez, Carson Kressley, and SO many more. Seriously, you do not want to miss this celeb-filled pop culture geek-out fest.

To celebrate Wednesday’s premiere, we caught up with the Watch What Happen’s Live host to talk all about the first episode of the season and his answers have us rolling with laughter.

The Wow Report: If you could go back to any year, what would it be and why?

Andy Cohen: I’d go back to 77 or 78 so I could live at Studio 54, assuming I could get in.

TWR: What was your favorite moment of 1997?

AC: Favorite moment of 1997 was New Year’s Eve at the Delano in Miami with My best friend Bruce Bozzi.

TWR: Who was your biggest crush in 1997?

AC: My biggest crush in ’97 was Antonio Sabato Jr. Don’t laugh – he was the Calvin Klein underwear guy!

TWR: If you could go back in a time machine to the 90s, what would you change?

AC: If I could go back in a time machine to the 90s I’d shave my head. I never got my hair right and thus wasted my youth.

TWR: What as your biggest fashion faux pas of the 90s?

AC: Biggest fashion faux pas in 90s was my love of vests and blouse shirts.

#Frorks: Yes, McDonald’s New Fork Made of French Fries Is Real

Just when we, as a society, had finally accepted the spork and the cereal straw, along comes McDonald’s new “fork.”

Yes, that’s a fork made out french fries, and it’s now officially a thing.

It’s part of a new campaign to “get the word out that sandwiches in its new Signature Crafted Recipes line-up are so packed with toppings that you’ll need a special utensil to deal with it,” according to NBC News.

There’s also a new Frork infomercial (see below).

“Will the Frork change your life? Probably not,” says TV pitchman Anthony Sullivan in the video. “Will the Frork improve your Signature Crafted Recipes eating experience? I mean, sure … maybe.”

It seems like a marketing stunt, but apparently you can actually own one. A limited supply of Frorks are available with the purchase of a Signature Crafted Recipes sandwich on May 5 ― but only at participating restaurants.

RIP: Edie Sedgwick Biographer Jean Stein Leaps to her Death

Over the weekend, The New York Post reported that an elderly woman jumped to her death from her ritzy Upper East Side apartment building. Word later began circulating that the woman was, in fact, acclaimed author Jean Stein. Stein is probably most famous as the biographer of Warhol superstar Edie Sedgwick (a book that CHANGED MY LIFE). The 83-year-old leapt from her 15th-floor bedroom balcony and landed on an eighth-floor terrace at 10 Gracie Square around 10:30 a.m. Sunday, police sources said. Stein suffered from depression and this was not her first suicide attempt. In an eerie coincidence, the apartment she lived in was the same apartment that once belonged to Gloria Vanderbilt, where HER son, Carter, jumped to his death in 1988. Also strange: In Jean’s latest book West of Eden, she writes about the daughter of David O. Selznick and Jennifer Jones who leaped to HER death from the roof of a skyscraper. Very sad. WOW EXCLUSIVE: RuPaul Talks About the Netflix Series ‘Girlboss’

RuPaul speaks exclusively to the WOW Report about working on the new Netflix series Girlboss – based on Sophia Amoruso‘s autobiography of the same name – and his character Lionel.

Girlboss is based off of Nasty Gal’s ex-CEO Sophia Amoruso’s best-selling book of the same name. Did you know a lot about Sophia before the project?

RuPaul: You know, before I got the role as Lionel on Girlboss, I had heard of Sophia Amoruso’s story, and I knew of her book. I was so excited because I love the whole concept of sisters who are doing it for themselves, and this is a great example of that.

Did you get to meet and work with her? How involved was she with the project?

Sophia Amoruso, who is the Girlboss, was very involved with the project from beginning to end, although she wasn’t on the set when we were filming. I did eventually get to meet her at the premiere?

Tell us a little bit about your character Lionel.

Lionel is Sophia’s next door neighbor who is sassy and straightforward, but also kooky and fun.

What was your favorite part about shooting?

My favorite part of filming was getting to meet Kay Cannon who was the creator of the show who is so dynamic and so creative. Just being in her presence helped me bring the character to life.

Are you character Lionel on Girlboss and RuPaul two different people?

I am different from Lionel. Lionel will say things that can be interpreted as kind of harsh and cruel. I don’t think I do that in my everyday life. I may think it, but I won’t say it. Lionel would actually say it.

Did you learn any thing new about entrepreneurship from Sophia’s book Girlboss or from working on the show Girlboss?

I didn’t necessarily learn anything about being an entrepreneur, but it did reaffirm what I knew which was find your passion, find a niche or a place where you could be of service, and start there.

What advice do you recommend when interviewing for a job?

When I’m interviewing someone for a job, I’m looking at the details. I’m looking at their fingernails, I’m looking at their ability to put together a story. Even if the story is a simple story. I want to see that there is a consciousness there, and that there is an awareness there. I’m looking for confidence. I’m looking for someone who understands what their own rhythm is.

What advice do you have for young entrepreneurs trying to be successful?

My advice for young entrepreneurs is to follow your bliss. You have to be interested in something. You have to be passionate about something to be able to become a success at it. People can smell a fraud, and you have to find your rhythm. Your passion.
