Researchers Héctor Carrillo and Amanda Hoffman of Northwestern University in the journal, Sexualities, just revealed interviews conducted online by three female researchers with men who identified as straight but sought out casual sex with men.

Carrillo and Hoffman explain;

“The sexualities of men who have same-sex desires yet identify as straight have attracted significant attention in recent years. We present findings from interviews with 100 such men, whom we recruited while they were seeking sex with men online, and examine the logics that allow them to maintain an identity as straight. Our sample is somewhat unique in that it included men across a wide age range (from 18 to 70), and also because many of our participants are white adult US men who are married or in stable relationships with women.

Based on their patterns of sexual interpretation, we discuss how these men make their same-sex desires and behaviours consistent with a primary self-identification as straight…“

Take the qualifications for what they are; qualifications. Here are their words of some of the participants as told to the interviewers;

I know what I like. I like pussy. I like women … the more the merrier … I would kiss a woman. ANYWHERE. I can barely hug a man … I do have a healthy sexual imagination and wonder about other things in the sexual realm I’ve never done … Sometimes I get naughty and explore … That’s how I see it.–Reggie, 28

Women are hot … I can see a beautiful woman walk down the street and I instantly can become hard and get horny. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a guy walking by and got a boner. Also, I would not want to kiss or make out with them or love them. They would be more like a sexual experience. –Charlie, 32

I think everybody is a little bi. Isn’t that what this research is about? There’s the Kinsey scale … It’s not like Bush saying you’re either with us or with the terrorists. I think I’m probably bi but what I present to the world is a heterosexual man. Internally I’m bi, but that’s not something most people know. I’m not ashamed, but the majority of people are ignorant and close-minded. –Simon, 27

I am not openly bisexual to society except in sexual situations … I don’t have relationships with men; I am in a relationship with my wife and only love her. [I’m bisexual] only with men behind closed doors. –Dustin, 28

For most of my sex life I’m in control of things. I’m not a boss at work anymore but I’ve been in situations where I’ve managed a hundred people at a time. I take care of my family. I take care of my kids. I’m a good father. I’m a good husband in providing material things for my wife … I’m in charge in a lot of places … There’s times when I don’t want to be in charge and I want someone to be in charge of me … that’s what brings me over [to] the bisexuals … it’s kind of submitting to another guy or being used by another guy.” –Russell, 54

There is SO much complex psychology and physiology to human sexuality, why judge, Judy? As Carrillo and Hoffman say,

“We argue that, in the process of maintaining identities as straight men, they change the definition of heterosexuality, in effect turning it into a considerably elastic category that is perceived as fully compatible with having and enacting same-sex desires.“

In anticipation for the premiere of Sell It Like Serhant this week we chatted with jet-setting, selling machine Ryan Serhant and got more of an inside scoop on the show and what to expect! Sell It Like Serhant follows Ryan Serhant as he goes to assist struggling sales people across the country and turn their lacking performance into top notch sales abilities!

CP: How does Sell It Like Serhant differ from what fans are used to watching you do on Million Dollar Listing NY?

The only things that are the same between the shows are me, my suits, and selling. Other than that, everything is different. Million Dollar Listing NY follows me and Fred and Steve through our personal and professional lives as we sell high end real estate in New York and beyond. On Sell It Like Serhant, instead of every episode being a different property I’m trying to sell, every episode is a different salesperson in a different business I’m trying to help.

CP: On Sell It Like Serhant, you got to work with salespeople in all different industries, which industry was your favorite to learn about?

Honestly – and this may sound like a lame answer – I loved all of them. All of the businesses are SO different. Obviously learning about commercial real estate in one episode was closer to home for me, but it was just as interesting as learning about how hot tubs and body lotion were made and sold. But if I had to pick ONE, then I’d say the wine episode. Because in order to learn how to sell it, I had to learn how to make it…and drink it!

CP: How has working in real estate prepared you for helping those who were on Sell It Like Serhant?

Working in real estate in New York gave me all the preparation I needed to help people on Sell It Like Serhant. That’s how the show came about in the first place! Since Million Dollar Listing NY came out in 2012, salespeople from every industry all over the world have reached out to me. They send me emails saying how the way I negotiated in that one episode helped them sell more tires in Iowa, or more wine, or more in ground pools. It’s crazy. I never thought in a million years other salespeople in different industries would be able to take so much away from our real estate show. But selling real estate in the craziest market in the world to some of the toughest clients out there for the last decade has prepared me to help anyone sell anything.

CP: What advice do you have for other salespeople who may be struggling in their fields?

Call me and maybe you can be on season 2! Hah! I would say if your struggling to go back to basics. Remember making a sale comes AFTER making a relationship. So focus on making friends, introducing them to the product you’re selling, and then showing the value. People don’t like being sold, but they love shopping with friends.

CP: What are you most excited for fans to see on Sell It Like Serhant?

Oh man, I’m excited for everything. It’s such a fun, different show. I talk directly to camera and the audience, which you don’t have on many other shows. It’s a very visceral, real, exciting, show. And you will learn something in each episode – about how to sell, of course, but about the businesses as well. But if you just want to see me in a speedo, a dress, or overalls cutting down a tree – the show has that too.

CP: In your own words, why should fans of Million Dollar Listing watch Sell It Like Serhant?

Fans of Million Dollar Listing should watch Sell it Like Serhant because it has all the fun elements of MDL, and the houses and the tough sellers are just replaced by businesses and struggling salespeople. Also I’m in both – and I’m crazy. So enjoy : – )

It co-stars Niko Karamyan from “The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story,” and Lara Marie Schoenhals,  author of the New York Times Bestseller “White Girl Problems” and star of the viral “Please Welcome to the Stage” video parodying Taylor Swift, as well as the stellar multihyphenates Drew Hinckley and Shannon Lay. The claim, first made many years ago, is gathering renewed interest in the Middle East. Why is not clear, but Al-Ousboue traced the queen’s lineage back 43 generations. Her bloodline runs through the Earl of Cambridge, in the 14th century, across medieval Muslim Spain, to Fatima, the Prophet’s daughter. Her link to Muhammad has previously been verified by Ali Gomaa, the former grand mufti of Egypt, and Burke’s Peerage, a British authority on royal pedigrees.

Much hinges on a Muslim princess called Zaida, who fled a Berber assault on her home town of Seville in the 11th century and wound up in the Christian court of Alfonso VI of Castille. She changed her name to Isabella, converted to Christianity and bore Alfonso a son, Sancho, one of whose descendants later married the Earl of Cambridge. But Zaida’s own origins are debatable. Some make her the daughter of Muatamid bin Abbad, a wine-drinking caliph descended from the Prophet. Others say she married into his family.

Soooooo… Is this a good thing or a bad thing? Depends on who you ask…

Reaction to the queen’s purported Muslim extraction has been varied in the Arab world. Some have warned of a perfidious plot to revive the British empire with help from Muslims, particularly Shias, who revere the Prophet’s descendants. They note that the BBC’s Arabic channel ran the bloodline story. But others welcome the news. “It builds a bridge between our two religions and kingdoms,” says Abdelhamid Al-Aouni, who wrote the article in Al-Ousboue. Other reports have called the queen sayyida or sherifa, titles reserved for the Prophet’s descendants.

After a co-star in a 2015 production of King Lear made a complaint about his behavior, actor Geoffrey Rush is ‘virtually housebound’, barely eats and wakes up with a ‘terrible sense of dread,’ his lawyer says.

According to the Daily Mail:

The 66-year-old has lost his appetite, struggles to sleep, and has rarely left his home, according to the affidavit tendered to the Federal Court.

He wakes every morning with a ‘terrible sense of dread about his future career’, and feels his worth to the theatre and film industry is irreparably damaged, it said.

When he does venture out in public he feels anxious as he believes people are staring at him in a challenging, frightening and unnerving way.

All of this stems from allegations that Rush touched his Lear co-star several times during the final week of the show in a way that made her uncomfortable, and in a way he hadn’t touched her before.

Defense documents allege the actress was visibly upset and told Rush to stop after the first instance of on-stage touching, which was not scripted, directed or necessary for the performance.

‘Now, she said stop – he didn’t. He went on doing it. Our case is that that in itself is inappropriate,’ he The Telegraph’s lawyer Tom Blackburn SC said.

Rush was also accused of following the actress into the women’s toilet at a restaurant during the cast’s celebration after the final performance.

He allegedly stood outside her toilet stall until she swore at him and told him to leave.

Rush, of course, “strenuously denies” the allegations, calling them “false and demeaning.”

The actor claimed the ‘slurs, innuendo and hyperbole’ caused ‘irreparable damage to my reputation’ and were hurtful to his family.

The vocals are soothing and even angelic at times. Chris also wrote all the lyrics for the entire album, which is something that most pop artists do not do. There are some love songs and even a song about alcoholism to close the album. The album is a great compilation of songs that are all unique in their own way and all show Chris’ natural talent. Our current favorite song on the album is “I Don’t Need Another Maybe” which feels much like a Britney song from the 1990’s. So good!! We can’t wait to hear more from this rising musician/singer!

A 27-year-old Russian woman was EMBALMED ALIVE after doctors mistakenly filled her IV bag with formaldehyde instead of saline.

Ekaterina Fedyaeva underwent routine surgery at a hospital in the Volga Federal District of Russia, when the hospital put her on a formalin drip, which contains formaldehyde – the liquid used to keep corpses from decomposing.

For the next two days Fedyaeva suffered pains and convulsions as her body eroded from the insides.

Says her mother, Galina Baryshnikov:

“Her legs were moving, she had convulsions, her whole body was shaking,” said her mother, according to The Sun. “I put socks on her, then a robe, then a blanket but she was shivering to such an extent, I can’t even describe it.”

Her mother also said that no doctor ever checked on her after coming out of surgery.

“This is pure murder,” said Galina Baryshnikova, according to reports. “[It] was simply eroding her body from inside.”

“For 14 hours after surgery she was living with this formalin and they did nothing,” she said.

Though she pleaded with medical staff to help her daughter, Baryshnikova claims she was told to go home.

“I think they just wanted me to go away and to hide everything,” she said.

According to Newsweek: TASS reported that the minister of health for the Ulyanovsk region, Rashid Abdullov, offered his condolences to Fedyaeva’s family. Abdullov explained that although Fedyaeva briefly regained consciousness while being treated in Moscow, doctors were unable to save her.

In September 1998, a group of reporters flew from Ljubljana, capital of Slovenia, all expenses paid to Paris and stayed at the luxurious Hotel Lutetia. At the hotel, after a long wait, a beautiful model finally appeared. She asked that no photographs be taken. Nobody knew who she was. The reporters were told her name and they we wrote it down.

The meeting with the journalists was a curious foretelling of the peculiar traits of a future First Lady of the United States of America:  conundrum,  cipher, charade and contradiction.

At the Paris event with the journalists, the model told the reporters she was “one of the Top 50 Models in the World”. Stane Jerko, one of the best-known photographers in Slovenia, knew that was an exaggeration; he had shot pictures of her a decade earlier, and he knew she was still largely unknown even in her own country. Jerko:

“It’s not real. She had been working as a model only a short time and couldn’t be in the Top 50.”

The journalists in Paris were given a cover of an August 1997 Spanish edition of Harper’s Bazaar Magazine where the model appears in black chiffon, revealing one of her breasts underneath.

The cover shoot was done by photographer Manfred Gestrich in Mexico, yet the market was U.S. Hispanics. In the magazine, there was no interview or story with the cover girl, only a very brief sentence that referred to her only by her first name: “At the height of summer, Melania, photographed by….”

The model was dating a NYC real estate developer at the time. There was no mention of him during the meeting, but the entire event had his fingerprints all over it: Private jet, luxury hotel, a guided evening tour of Paris for the reporters.

The situation was bizarre. An unknown model who claimed to be famous but wanted no photos taken, and a group of journalists who knew nothing about her besides the cover of a magazine in a foreign language.

The model was not quite 17-years-old when Jerko asked her to model for him in 1987. Jerko:

“My eye of a professional photographer always looking for girls to photograph, for fashion, for ads, so I quickly noticed this tall girl, slender with a good figure, long legs…”

The next year, she took a modeling classes and landed her first jobs.

Jerko thought she might make a good model, but after two photo sessions, he lost his enthusiasm:

“Her exterior was very good to be an excellent model, but she lacked energy, a certain charm that if you have, you transmit it through your eyes, through your personality. If you have something that, shall we say, comes from the heart, it shows in the photo.”

The model never asked for one of his photographs, which he took free of charge:

“She never contacted me and thanked me because I discovered her and offered her the chance to become a model, and that somehow her modeling work, with her body, would take her as far.”

I wonder what ever became of that model.

Long ago, Alec Mapa declared himself to be ”America’s Gaysian Sweetheart”.

Wearing a suit jacket and his signature shorts, he made self-deprecating jokes about being a diminutive, gay Filipino with a standup act that included doing Beyoncé doing Single Ladies and sharing that, as a child, his entire battalion of GI Joe dolls never went to war. Mapa:

”The idea that America would embrace a gay Asian person to its bosom was such an outlandish concept.”

Mapa’s comedy special Alec Mapa: Baby Daddy (2015) is streaming on Showtime. It hilariously, irreverently chronicles his journey to fatherhood via foster adoption.

Mapa first grabbed our attention on Broadway when he replaced B.D. Wong in the original Tony Award-winning production of M. Butterfly. He has guest starred on over 50 television series, including Alias, Friends, Seinfeld, and NYPD Blue. He made Television History for playing the first series regular Gay Asian when he was cast on the CBS sitcom Some Of My Best Friends. More recurring roles on television followed: Half & Half, Suzuki St. Pierre on Ugly Betty, Vern on Desperate Housewives, and Renzo on Switched At Birth.

One of his best film roles is ”N’ Cream” in the drag queen musical Connie And Carla (2004). Other films include Playing By Heart (1998), Marley & Me (2008), and You Don’t Mess With The Zohan (2008).

Mapa’s crackling comedy special Wisecrack premiered on LOGO in 2005 and is now a cult favorite. His terrific comedy specials America’s Gaysian Sweetheart and No Fats, Femmes Or Asians! are streaming on Here!.

Mapa received the prestigious Davidson Valentini GLAAD Award for promoting equal rights for the LGBTQ community. A tireless fundraiser, he has toured the country on behalf of The Human Rights Campaign and The Matthew Shepard Foundation.

He has been a guest judge on World of Wonder‘s RuPaul’s Drag Race and RuPaul’s Drag U. We love him to pieces.

Mapa lives in L.A. with his husband and his son.

The two then collaborate to create fabulous yet affordable re-designs for their clients.

The middle sister of the Kardashian/Jenner daughters, Khloé Kardashian has officially given birth to her first child, a baby girl. This is Khloé’s first and only child with NBA star boyfriend, Tristan Thompson. Reports say that Khloé had the baby in Cleveland, Ohio early this morning and Kim Kardashian-West, Kris Jenner and her best friend, Malika Haqq were all present for the baby’s entrance into the world.

I was cleaning up his room while he was in the shower and I saw this show (rupaul) was paused on Netflix. He has been using different kind of phrases like “the shade” and “I’m gagging” (that one worried me at first). I googled the shade and found it was a drag term but I didn’t understand it.

Is there any advice you can give me? I won’t embarrass him and start quoting the show but when he said he was “gagging” I had no idea how to react. I would like to know how to react. I was hoping I could get a crash course on this sort of chat.

Any tips would be awesome and any stories or general advice would help.

I’m sure he is gay too for other reasons.

Picture it: 1972. Montauk. The Hamptons. Everybody’s there. Mick and Bianca Jagger, Paul Morrissey, Truman Capote, Andy Warhol… Lee Radziwell and her sliiiiightly more famous sister Jackie O… superhunky photographer Peter Beard (“the Most Interesting Man in the World”…But wait for it, the big get here is never-before-seen footage of Gray Gardens and its legendary inhabitants Big and Little Edie Beale. It’s three years before Albert Maysles made them cult superstars, and we get to watch the genesis of that film as Lee and Peter go to the mansion for the first time, get to workmen to help repair it, and rescue the bickering mother and daughter from eviction. It’s Beard’s footage that had apparently been “lost” for decades, until Swedish director Göran Hugo Olson found it and edited it into this documentary. The result is heartstoppingly gorgeous: Intimate yet remote, telling yet enigmatic.
