OMGOMGOMG. The wait is over. It’s your first look at the MOST AMAZING MUSICAL OF ALL TIME. The trailer for Into the Woods is HERE! Meryl Streep, Anna Kendrick, Chris Pine, Johnny Depp, and Emma Blunt…. they’re all here in their SURE-TO-BE-OSCAR-NOMINATED ROLES! Watch it. Learn it. Live it. Love it.
Oddly enough: No songs in the trailer, probably because they’re tuneless and cerebral and weirdly-structured (because Sondheim, duh) and not your typical hummable verse/verse/chorus/bridge/big finish Disney numbers – but that’s OK. Also: There was no Billy Magnussen in the trailer, and I’m telling you, he’s going to be the big breakout heartthrob of the film (TAKE THAT, CHRIS PINE!), and possibly THE breakout heartthrob of 2015 (Take THAT, Brenton Thwaits!).
UPDATE: Freakin’ Disney, man. Keeps taking it down as fast as I can post new versions. Go to iTunes to watch it, I suppose.
