Burger King has ALWAYS been my favorite (Thursday night Burger King nights in my household growing up, HELLO!) And with their brand-new “Proud Whopper,” my love for BK has increased even more! Click over to read more about this totally fabulous whopper!
Burger King has recently announced they will sell the “Proud Whopper!” Here’s the breakdown… It’s very very simple… a regular Whopper bundled up in a rainbow wrapper!
When you open this proud little burger, the wrapper says ”We are all the same inside!”
SO simple! But SO very wonderful! Here’s the skinny: The “Proud Whopper” will be sold ONLY through Thursday at ONLY ONE Burger King location in San Francisco on Market Street.
Fernando Machado, senior vice president of global brand management at Burger King told USA Today:
“It showcases who we are as a brand, It shows how we, as a brand, believe in self-expression.”
The inspiration behind the equality wrapper and the two-minute video about the “Proud Whopper” is Burger King’s efforts to put into motion actions that support its recently-changed slogan: “Be Your Way.” And all “Proud Whopper” sales will be donated to the Burger King McLamore Foundation for scholarships benefiting LGBT high school seniors graduating in spring 2015! Now, for the moment, there are no plans to broaden the “Proud Whopper” sales, but Fernando Machado says they may consider something EVEN BIGGER later on! This makes my heart so happy!
