So cute! Beard Baubles are tiny festive holiday ornaments for the hirsute hipsters in your life. Created by the UK advertising agency Grey London, they’re available to purchase online. Each pack contains 14 multicoloured baubles to attach to the bristles – ten large balls and four small ones.

All proceeds are donated to Beard Season, a Sydney, Australia-based community that both informs and helps others to avoid the deadly skin cancer melanoma.

A London advertising agency has been selling beard baubles – for the man wanting to add an extra festive touch to his chin fuzz.The company claims that the Yuletide facial hair accessory – which retails for £5.00 ($7.80) a packet – has been flying off shelves, with customers from as far as Australia placing orders. Ollie Dearn, who works at the agency behind the accessory, Grey London, said: ‘The product has been particularly popular with Brits. ‘We’ve sold more than we ever expected.

The success of the product is a happy accident – the business makes a Christmas card every year to send to clients and friends and this year decided to add a present to their message of seasonal cheer. Ollie said: ‘Each year, Grey London make a Christmas card to send out to clients and other agencies.’

He continued: ‘This year, the two designers Mike Kennedy and Pauline Ashford went one step further and came up with a festive gift idea to feature on our cards – Beard Baubles. It was a striking image.’

The craze isn’t just a hit with humans either. Ollie says: ‘We’ve heard about hairy dogs wearing Beard Baubles too.’

I swear I don’t have penises on the brain 24/7 but in line with my earlier post and Tom Ford’s “Penis pendant Necklace”, there’s this post from George Takei on Facebook. I’m not sure which city had something other than Candles and Holiday ornaments on the brain… I think the stars were added by an overzealous fan but they are nevertheless, um, FESTIVE!

The podcast 99% Invisible gives a fascinating history of those inflatable dancing tube men commonly used in street-corner advertisements. Apparently, the figures have their origins in Caribbean art and the work of artist Peter Minshall. 

According to the podcast:

Minshall worked with artist Doron Gazit on the design and they debuted the inflatable tube men during the opening ceremony of the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. Gazit later patented the design and licenses it to companies like Look Our Way. Modified versions of the inflatable tube men called Air Rangers are even marketed as highly effective scarecrows to protect crops.

1996. Huh. I could have sworn they’ve been around since the dawn of creation.

In her own words for Vanity Fair. You HAVE to read Beverly Johnson’s account of being drugged by Bill Cosby. Here’s an excerpt;

“Now let me explain this: I was a top model during the 70s, a period when drugs flowed at parties and photo shoots like bottled water at a health spa. I’d had my fun and experimented with my fair share of mood enhancers. I knew by the second sip of the drink Cosby had given me that I’d been drugged—and drugged good.

My head became woozy, my speech became slurred, and the room began to spin nonstop. Cosby motioned for me to come over to him as though we were really about to act out the scene. He put his hands around my waist, and I managed to put my hand on his shoulder in order to steady myself.

As I felt my body go completely limp, my brain switched into automatic-survival mode. That meant making sure Cosby understood that I knew exactly what was happening at that very moment.

‘You are a motherfucker aren’t you?’

That’s the exact question I yelled at him as he stood there holding me, expecting me to bend to his will. I rapidly called him several more ‘motherfuckers.’ By the fifth, I could tell that I was really pissing him off. At one point he dropped his hands from my waist and just stood there looking at me like I’d lost my mind.”

The tasty invite, to the first of many Drag Ball, I hope.

Oh, kids. I, like you have been seeing pics of World of Wonder’s Annual Holiday parties for years now, but I’ve never been able to attend. I had NO IDEA what I was missing. This year, I made it a point to get my butt to LA for the First Annual Drag Ball (I was in Florida for an exhibit and then Art Basel and then I hooked it to SF for another show… more on those this weekend.) Boy am I glad I did! I’ll give you a taste of what it was like, for me anyway…

The party was at Universal Studios at the Globe theater, a GIGANTIC space that had 3 bars, Red Carpet arrivals press area (inside, as it was raining outside) a Snowman photo booth, a center runway stage (which was WORKED repeatedly) and Lady Bunny‘s DJ booth, where she was egging everyone on all night. Taunting queens to work the runway and it didn’t take much to get most up there. World of Wonder honchos Fenton Bailey, Tom Campbell and I, without any prior discussion ended up in coordinating outfits by OPPO suits like Carol Burnett, Vicki Lawrence and a Special Guest Star. (Tom was Vicki & Fenton was Carol… but where was Randy Barbato all night? I saw him once. Enjoying the throngs thanking him for such a great party, no doubt.) James St. James accosted, uh, INTERVIEWED everyone within striking distance which included myself and Bunny (we discovered we’d all known each other as long as another interviewer there had been on the planet. Depressing.) James talked to internet sensation of the year, 15 year-old Brendan Jordan, Nadya Ginsberg, Barbie’s Addiction, Raven-Symoné, Alyssa Edwards… OMG, the list goes on and on. Some high points for me were posing with the fierce Ms. Edwards, who looked great with and without stole and the spectacularly attired Sharon Needles Claus (or is it claws?) Madame, yes THE MADAME was flying all over the place and every time you turned around she and her cute handler, were in your face–literally. She and Bunny had a moment there, two gay icons lip synching for their lives. It was all more fun than I can even tell you here. Of course, dressing up and taking pictures with a bunch of crazy people is always fun, right? Have a look at some of the mayhem…

See the other snowmen posts on Wow, but this was the best of the night, for me.

I had to run home (via Uber, which came in a flash) to get my phone charger before heading to The Standard for Susanne Bartsch‘s Kunst, which James, co-hosted and has been touting all week. That party vibe and set-up was kinda, NYC, if you ask me (I said to Susanne it takes her throwing on LA party to get me out) To enter, you go in through the hotel lobby and then, I kid you not, through the kitchen! to get into the low-ceilinged basement club that was packed and exploding with most interesting-looking crowd, I think I’ve ever seen in LA. Many of the same faces were there that were at the Drag Ball including the also spectacular Mathu Anderson who did not disappoint nor miss one opportunity to pose for pics, that I could see. John Polly was gorgeous with hair that brought him INCHES from God. There was a performance by Object Permanence with I missed, but I actually caught Actually and La Femme La Dosha which were both great. James will no doubt give you more details as soon as he gets up off the kitchen floor of The Standard hotel where I left him. You know, I’m making that up. But you also know that the reality might be far more interesting.

OMG – look at this wicked photo of Angelina Jolie annihilating Amy Pascal with a death stare.  This came weeks after a hack at Sony revealed an email thread between Scott Rudin and Amy Pascal calling Angelina a “minimally talented spoiled brat.” HARSH! I’m happy to be in LA and avoiding the NYC weather but am SO bummed to be missing the latest installment of Nora Burns’ New York Stories. This one has some old friends and some of my favorite peeps: Kevin Sessums, Brian Butterick, Erich Conrad, Robert La Fosse, George Wayne, Sharon Neisp, Corey Tippin & Tom Eubanks will tell their New York stories at the legendary Stonewall Inn. Dane DeHaanaka Leonardo 2.0 aka THE MOST EXCITING ACTOR OF HIS GENERATION  is sucked into the Roosevelt Dam after a fight with his brother turns terribly wrong in the new Imagine Dragons video. Watch it after the jump.

According to the rock band’s headcanon, doing so will send one through the water filtering pipes and into some kind of underwater house. You’ll wake up on a boat, setting your sail for adventures unknown. Your boat will also be sent over a waterfall and, after floating in the air, you’ll land in a big city.

But by the end, it’s clear: don’t pick fights in bodies of water near a dam.

The clip stars Dane DeHaan and was directed by Canadian filmmaker Jodeb, who directed Zedd’s “Clarity.”

“As the first video on our new album, it was especially important that we capture the emotion of the song,” frontman Dan Reynolds said of the clip.  “Although it was written about my sometimes strained relationship with my parents, our director Jodeb had a powerful vision for how the feeling of the story could be portrayed.  We were also lucky to have such amazing talent to work with in our lead actor Dane DeHaan.”

“I Bet My Life” is the first video from Imagine Dragons’ upcoming new album, their second. The record does not yet have a release date.

Yes, today is the last sequential day of our lifetimes, kids. And consequently, lottery players, numerologists and superstitious folks are all doing SOMETHING you can bet. The Viva Las Vegas wedding chapel plans to marry 120 couples today starting with Egyptian-themed nuptials followed by weddings with a touch of Tom Jones, gangsters, Liberace and, of course, Elvis. The number is on pace with July 7, 2007 (7/7/7) but far from the 230 weddings the chapel performed for Nov. 11, 2011 (11/11/11).

Martin Freeman hosting Saturday Night Live, combined two of his better known roles — Bilbo Baggins from “The Hobbit” trilogy and Tim Canterbury from BBC’s “The Office.”

“Umm, what have I been up to? I went on a quest and saved Middle-earth. I became a bit of a hero. Did the noble thing and turned down loads of treasure. Yeah, so the brave Hobbit Bilbo Baggins now works at a paper company.”

As funny as it is –perfect really– I can’t help but imagine what Sherlock Hobbit/Office Holmes would have been like? “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies,” starring Freeman as the Bilbo (not Dildo), opens December 17.
