Black Conservative FOX Commentator Gianno Caldwell’s Tearful On-Air Words Last Night

$

Of course I, like most of the country, couldn’t tear myself away from the news yesterday and last night. I spent most of my time on CNN listening to Anderson Cooper, Don Lemon, and their guests work through the pain and emotional devastation of hearing our president support the “many fine” Nazis, KKK members, and White Supremacists who marched in Charlottesville. I thought Don, Ana Navarro, and Cornel West were especially touching.

I didn’t watch any FOX News, even though I usually like to keep an eye on the enemy, just to see where they land on any given issue. I couldn’t do it last night. I just couldn’t do it. That’s why I missed this: The moment black conservative commentator Gianno Caldwell — who Boy Culure reminds us was fond of claiming Hillary Clinton only cared about black votes, not black people all the while supporting demonstrably racist Donald Trump — has finally had enough of Trump.

Caldwell and the other woman are both clearly choked up as they discuss the events of the day, and although it’s not quite the full-throttle denunciation I would have like to see, it’s still very telling that happened on FOX. Just yesterday another FOX commenter, Kat Timpf,  broke with Trump, and it’s this steady drip, drip, drip that will ultimately lead to a watershed moment for all Americans, I have to believe.

Here’s what he said:

Last night, I couldn’t sleep at all because President Trump — our president — has literally betrayed the conscience of our country. The very moral fabric in which we’ve made progress when it comes to race relations in America? He’s failed us. And it’s very unfortunate that our president would say things like he did in that press conference yesterday when he says, “Well there’s, y’know, good people on the size of the Nazis. They weren’t all Nazis, they weren’t all white supremacists.” Well, Mr. President, people — good people don’t pal around with Nazis and white supremacists. Maybe they don’t consider themselves white supremacists and Nazis, but certainly, they hold those views.

This has become very troubling, and for anyone to come on any network and defend what President Trump did and said at that press conference yesterday, is completely lost and the potential of being morally bankrupt. I am sorry — no, I believe that, and I’m being very honest, as someone who’s been talking about these issues for a very long time I am sorry that this is where we are right now, and I hope the president learns a lesson from his press conference on yesterday. It’s disturbing.

And here’s Kat going off on Trump:

Jimmy Kimmel Has a BRILLIANT Idea for Dealing with Trump (…and So Does Chris Evans!)

In Jimmy Kimmel‘s opening monologue last night, he spoke passionately about the Trump situation, saying he understood the plight of the Trump voter who really believed the billionaire businessman would bring change to Washington.

“First of all, I want to say, I get it. I actually do,” Kimmel told Trump supporters. “You were unhappy with the way things were going. You wanted someone to come in and shake things up.”

But then Kimmel listed many of the ways in which Trump had let them down over the past seven months.

And that list was YOOOGE. He then concluded:

“By every reasonable account, and I’m using his own words here, he is a total disaster,” Kimmel said. “He screws up royally every day. … But you’ve been trying to ignore it because you don’t want to admit to these smug annoying liberals that they were right. … You picked the wrong guy.”

Of course, Kimmel has a very practical and easy solution: Let’s make Trump KING OF AMERICA. Give him a crown and a castle, then –like the Queen of England – he can have all the glory he wants and none of the power. Government would do its thing, Trump could wave to crowds and call it a day. It’a perfect solution. Watch below.

I saw a slightly more realistic idea on Chris Evans‘ Twitter last night that’s gaining some traction.

Think of the power of such a statement coming from all five of them.

Bonnie Tyler to Sing “Total Eclipse of the Heart” During Next Week’s Eclipse, Because Sometimes Life Is Wonderful Like That

Sunday, August 21, there will be a ultra-rare full solar eclipse, and to mark the glorious event, raggedy-voiced ’70s and ’80s pop sensation Bonnie Tyler will be singing her most famous song “Total Eclipse of the Heart.” WHICH IS SO SYNERGISTIC, OMG. There IS a slight catch, however. She’ll be singing it aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise ship, so you’ll have to be a passenger if you want to be a part of the fun. The cruise ship tells BuzzFeed it will journey to the “optimal spot” for eclipse viewing, so… I guess it’s a surprise? Anyway, it sounds like a lot of fun, and it’s a perfect excuse for us to peruse some of her most iconic videos, starting, of course, with the batshit bananas “Total Eclipse of the Heart” (I remember being sooooo turned on by whatever the hell is going on in that house, what with the private school boys in the shower, and the angel, and flying demonic choirboys… Just watch it.)

And here is probably my favorite music video of all time “Holding Out for a Hero” – I mea. My GOD. How many times have I stood in a billowing white dress on the edge of a cliff belting out the lyrics to this song? TOO DAMN MANY, I tell you. TOO DAMN MANY.

Of course, no Bonnie Tyler video marathon would be complete without her first big hit “It’s a Heartache” which STILL has the power to make me weep for my middle school crush, Scott Awad. Every. Freakin’. Word. Man. It’s like I’m still there, sneaking a smell of his hair in the lunch line. Powerful stuff, music is. Sob along with me, below.

Anyway, if you think you might like to join the Royal Caribbean cruise with Bonnie for next week’s eclipse, go here to find out more.

Almost three weeks left!

As the world counts down the days until RuPaul’s DragCon NYC finally arrives, the sound of sewing machines, hairbrushes detangling hair, and freshly lipsticked lips smacking away gets stronger and stronger.

Y’all better be getting ready for the best. weekend. of. your. life! That being said, it seems like none other than India Ferrah is here to help you.

We spoke with the RuPaul’s Drag Race queen about everything DragCon and boy, did she deliver some great advice for convention attendees!

While we all countdown the days until DragCon NYC happens at the Javits Center on September 9 & 10, take a look at the advice India Ferrah gave us on how to survive, find your tribe, and SO MUCH MORE!

How long does it take you to get ready for DragCon?

“Well I’ve already started preparing my looks for both days but on the actual mornings of Drag Con I like to have 2 to 2 and 1/2 hours to get ready from start to finish.”

How does the West Coast differ from the East Coast in your opinion? Either with the Drag, the fans, or both?

“I grew up on the east coast in Roanoke,VA and it was a lot of Old School style drag that I learned from, watched and shaped myself after. It will be interesting to see if any of this style will attend Drag Con NYC and it will be exciting to witness the NYC Drag Scene at Drag Con.”

Who are YOU excited to meet at DragCon NYC?

“I’m excited to meet all the new young fans on the east coast and people traveling from around the world to experience the first ever Drag Con NYC.”

What items do you HAVE to have in your purse/bag/bra to survive DragCon?

“Gum/Mints, Pressed powder and puff, Gloss or Lipstick, Nail glue because you never know when one of the girls wanna pop off of my finger or an earring jump off the ear..and I have to have my Kung Fu Fan to keep cool.”

What do YOU always buy/stock up on while you’re at DragCon?

“I always love browsing the different booths and vendors but every year I’ve always stocked up on Jewelry, MORPHE brushes and Jeffree Star Liquid Lipsticks. It’s a must have for me and you can never have too much Jewelry, Too many brushes or too many lipsticks!”

What advice would you give to someone who is attending DragCon NYC for the first time?

“Go all out!!! Be over the top. Be fabulous. Be sickening. Do what you’ve always wanted to do, because this is your moment! But remember!…Wear comfortable shoes. Clear your phone or camera’s memory out so you can take all the pics in the world! And drink plenty of Red bull or Coffee. I prefer both but I’ve trained myself over the years *wink*”

RuPaul’s DragCon NYC is happening at the Javits Center on September 9 & 10th. Head over to RuPaulsDragCon.com for FAQ, tickets, & MORE!

#BornThisDay: Mae West

Via Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc Archives

August 17, 1893– Mae West:

“Those who are easily shocked should be shocked more often.”

Her career started in 1907 and her last public appearance was in 1978. That’s quite a long run. Gay Icon Mae West worked in vaudeville, radio, on stage, on Broadway, in Las Vegas casinos, and, of course, in films. Her 1927 Broadway play Sex opened to bad reviews, did boffo box office, and was ultimately closed down by the police. West was charged with, and served time for, “corrupting the morals of the youth”. While incarcerated, she took her meals with the prison warden and his wife while entertaining them with her shtick. She told the press that she wore her silk panties under her prison uniform.

Early in her Broadway career West was already aware of her sweet spot as a Gay Icon. The Gays had been her most ardent fans from the very start. As the march towards equality moved forward, West’s popularity only continued to soar. Her witty, bodacious, blunt expressions of sexuality were celebrated by gay people for more than half a century and beyond. In the early part of the 20th century, West cultivated a strong following from the female impersonators of the era. Before drag queens impersonated Joan CrawfordCher, or Barbra Streisand, they were doing Mae West.

Her play The Drag (1927) had a theme of the male homo’s place in modern society. Sex launched her notoriety and her stardom on Broadway, but with The Drag, West did not even write a role for herself. The Drag was her contribution to a period in the 1920s when female impersonators appeared in mainstream stage shows while rues and flappers slummed at gay bars and drag balls. When the casting call for The Drag was posted, hundreds of pansies, fairies and queens showed up to read for it. The play featured a parade of gay characters of all types, and it ended with a 20 minute drag show sparkling spectacular. West was one of the very earliest public advocates for sexual equality in all its forms. A personal hero for me, and for forward thinking people, West spent her lifetime fighting censorship.

“I believe in censorship. I made a fortune out of it.”

West didn’t just write about the roles of women and gays in our society, she also took on racism. She included Black and Latin characters in her plays and in her nightclub act. Among West’s many boyfriends was boxing champion Gorilla Jones. When the management at her apartment building barred the African-American boxer from entering the premises, West simply bought the building and then lifted the ban.

“I wrote the story myself. It’s about a girl who lost her reputation and never missed it.”

She appeared in ten films from 1933-1943; a rather small body of work considering that during the same era Mickey Rooney appeared in more than 50 movies. But, West’s films were anticipated as major cultural events. Yet, by the end of the middle of the 1940s, a new puritanism was on the rise in the USA. The newly formed Hays Code censorship began severely limiting her career in film. After making The Heat Is On (1943), West retired from films and went back to Broadway.

In the early 1940s, West was the guest on ventriloquist Edgar Bergen‘s radio show. The dialogue between West and the show’s hosts, Bergen and the dummy Charlie McCarthy, contained West’s usual risqué wit. Days after the broadcast, NBC received letters calling the show “immoral” and “obscene.” Conservative groups went after the show’s sponsors. The FCC called the broadcast “vulgar and indecent”. NBC banned West from ever appearing on any more of their broadcasts.

In 1954, when she was 62-years-old, West began a stage act in which she was surrounded by hot musclemen as her chorus boys. It ran for three years and it was a surprise success.

At 70-years-old on “Mr. Ed” (1964), via Filmways

I think that West is extraordinarily neglected as a writer. Read her collected plays and you will be surprised at the skill, originality and wit in her theatre pieces, and they are still rather shocking today. She is also the author of a highly readable memoir Goodness Had Nothing To Do With It (1959). You can borrow my well read, dog-eared copy.

“I generally avoid temptation unless I can’t resist it.”

At 77-years-old, West appeared in the demented film Myra Breckinridge (1970) along with Farrah FawcettTom Selleck and Raquel Welch, based on the Gore Vidal bestselling novel. At 85-years-old, she made Sextette (1978) with a screenplay written by West and starring Timothy DaltonDom DeLuiseRingo Starr and Tony Curtis as her love interests and in small roles were friends from her Golden Era, George Raft and Walter Pigeon, along with some of the hot guys from her act. Sextette reunited West with Edith Head, her costume designer from She Done Him Wrong (1933).  In 1975, she published a self-help tome: Mae West On Sex, Health And ESP.

In her long career, West came out with 12 albums, including a collection Christmas songs, and she had 12 hit singles. She released an album of rock n’ roll covers, Great Balls Of Fire in 1972; she was 80-years-old.

Actor, nightclub performer, recording artist, playwright, screenwriter, Feminist Icon, sex symbol, Gay Icon, West had an entertainment career that spanned seven decades. But for me, West is remembered best for her quips, including Stephen’s Words To Live By:

“Too much of a good thing can be wonderful!”

In the summer of 1980, West was still working on her stage act when she suffered a series of strokes. At the time, her boyfriend was one of the musclemen from the act and 30 years younger than West. His name was Paul Novak and they had been a couple for her last 27 years. Novak stated:

“I believe I was put on this Earth to take care of Mae West.”

West’s private memorial service was in Hollywood, but she is buried with her family in her native Brooklyn.

One of the most revered pieces of the 20th century’s Surrealist Movement is the Mae West Lips Sofa, by artist Salvador Dalí.

Bette Midler is set to star in a biopic about West for HBO. It will focus on West’s mounting of Sex on Broadway and her 10 days in jail after it was closed-down for being indecent. The screenplay is by Harvey Fierstein with Boys In the Band (1971) director William Friedkin.

“I’ll try anything once, twice if I like it, three times to make sure.”

Clay Aiken Regrets Defending Trump: “I Was a F*cking Dumbass”

Former Celebrity Apprentice competitor Clay Aiken tweeted yesterday that he is withdrawing his support for Donald Trump in the wake of the Charlottesville, and says he was wrong about his former boss not being a racist.

“Remember all those times I defended @realDonaldTrump and believed he was not actually racist? Well… I am a f–king dumba–s. #imsorry,” the former Celebrity Apprentice competitor, 38, tweeted on Tuesday, August 15. “I’ve always thought he would be dumpster fire as a president and I was right about that. I just didn’t think he was racist #wrong.”

I have A LOT of thoughts about this that we “discuss” on tomorrow’s WOW Report radio show on Radio Andy Sirius XM – and by “discuss” I mean I shout myself hoarse and generally talk over everybody for twenty minutes. Be sure to tune in.

US magazine reminds of Clay’s dubious past relationship with Trump:

Although he holds membership in the Democratic party, the American Idol alum has outspokenly supported Trump, 71, in the past. “Anybody who discounts him is shortsighted,” he told Billboard in August 2015 of the business mogul’s bid for the presidency. “I don’t think anybody should discount him. Nobody thought that we would see him in the position he is in right now. He is certainly the front-runner with no signs of that fading.”

The Sharknado 5 star also defended Trump in May 2016. “I don’t think he’s a facist. I don’t think he’s a racist,” Aiken told Fox Business at the time. “I like him as a person. I always say he’s like the uncle who gets drunk at the wedding and embarrasses you. You still love him, but you wish he’d shut up.”

Should We Be Worried? Trump Supporters and Juggalos Are Marching in DC On the Same Day

Different rallies. Different groups. Wildly different ideologies. In the same city on the same day.

Is it a recipe for disaster?

Donald Trump supporters converge alongside Insane Clown Posse superfans at the National Mall in Washington DC, September 16th.

The “Juggalo March on Washington” has been planned for more than a year. The goal is to protest the FBI and Department of Justice 2011 labeling the group’s fans as a “loosely organized hybrid gang.”

“This is the day that we are asking every single Juggalo to join us in our nation’s capital, Washington, D.C., to make a collective statement from the Juggalo Family to the world about what we are and what we are not,” the rally website states.

The other group protesting that day is the political group “Mother of All Rallies,” or MOAR, who say there are “gathering to support our President and our country”

The organizers of MOAR hope their efforts will “send a direct message to Congress, the media and the world that we stand united not divided to protect and preserve American Culture,” according to a statement attributed to organizer Tommy Gunn on the event’s page.

MOAR is scheduled to meet at the Washington Monument at 11 a.m., while the Juggalos will meet at noon at the Lincoln Memorial, before marching up and down the National Mall.

Will they meet? Will they scuffle?

I mean, I’m not reeeeeeally worried. I’ve met dozens of Juggalos over the years, and they’re just deranged music fans. I’m frankly more scared of Beliebers or Taylor Swift fans.

The Trump supporters are a different story. They’ll be freaked out by the Juggalos and who knows what they’ll do.

Then again, it seems their crowd numbers are dwindling (last weeks riots notwithstanding), so this might be a tempest in a teapot.

What do you think? Grab the popcorn or shit it down?

Dolly Parton Has a New Children’s Album (But I’m Sure You Can Buy It Too)

It’s the happiest headline I could find today: Dolly Parton, bless her heart, has an album of (mostly) new music for children (her first ever!) that she’s releasing Oct. 13. It’s titled I Believe In You and contains songs with uplifting, inclusive, and teachable titles like “Makin’ Fun Ain’t Funny,” “You Can Do It,” and “I Am A Rainbow.”

“My first album was released 50 years ago and it’s been an amazing 50 years since then,” said Parton at a press conference held yesterday on the same set that her Smoky Mountain wildfire telethon took place. “I am very excited that now I’m coming out with my first children’s album in all of those 50 years.”

In 1996, Parton released the children’s book Coat of Many Colors, the same year she launched the Imagination Library in her hometown, to which all proceeds from I Believe In You will be directed. The Imagination Library sends a free book every month to children who register; since its founding the organization says it has sent some 100 million books to kids in the U.S., Canada, Australia, U.K. and Belize.

Says NPR of the release:

“As the world spins askew, it’s nice to know that children of all ages still have the chance to learn from one of the best.”

Tracklist:

“I Believe in You”
“Coat of Many Colors” [New recording]
“Together Forever”
“I Am a Rainbow”
“I’m Here”
“A Friend Like You”
“Imagination”
“You Can Do It”
“Responsibility”
“You Gotta Be”
“Makin’ Fun Ain’t Funny”
“Chemo Hero”
“Brave Little Soldier”

Arnold Schwarzenegger to Neo-Nazis: “Your Heroes Are Losers & Now They’re In Hell”

Cigar-chomping Terminator star Arnold Schwarzenegger has some hard truths for the new wave of neo-Nazis proliferating our country. In a message to TMZ, he says that he KNEW the original Nazis, growing up in Austria in the 1940s. They lived their lives in shame and are now resting in hell. It’s not too late, he urges them, to change their evil ways and do something good with their lives.

Watch below.

“I have a message for the neo-Nazis and the White Nationalists and to the net-confederates. Let me be as blunt as possible: Your heroes are losers. You are supporting a lost cause. And believe me, I know original Nazis. because you see, I was born in Austria in 1947, shortly after the Second World War. Growing up, I was surrounded by broken men … men who came home from a war filled with shrapnel and guilt. Men who were misled into a losing ideology. And I can tell you: that these ghosts you idolize spent the rest of their lives living in shame. And right now, they’re resting in hell.

“It’s never too late to make the choices to learn and to evolve and to understand that all human beings have equal value.

“You are so lucky to live in a country that gives you the right to say horrible things. But think about how you could use that power for something good.”

#Breaking: Steve Bannon Is OUT!

According to the New York Times, Stephen Bannon, the White House chief strategist who helped Trump win the election is out. The Times says

The president and senior White House officials were debating when and how to dismiss Mr. Bannon. The two administration officials cautioned that Mr. Trump is known to be averse to confrontation within his inner circle, and could decide to keep on Mr. Bannon for some time.

As of Friday morning, the two men were still discussing Mr. Bannon’s future, the officials said. A person close to Mr. Bannon insisted the parting of ways was his idea, and that he had submitted his resignation to the president on Aug. 7, to be announced at the start of this week, but it was delayed in the wake of the racial unrest in Charlottesville, Va.

Mr. Bannon had clashed for months with other senior West Wing advisers and members of the president’s family.

Is this a way for Trump to save face, in the wake of his White Nationalist approval? And the other question that remains, is Bannon more of a danger outside the West Wing than in…?

Meanwhile, In Japan: Buddhist Robots Are Performing Funeral Services & Robot Wolves Are Guarding Crops

$

We all know that most jobs will be replaced by robots in the coming years, but somehow I always thought priests were pretty safe. Not so.

Oddity Central is reporting about a line of Buddhist robots that can perform funeral services at a fraction of the cost demanded by human priests.

Nissei Eco, a company that has been involved in the funeral business since 2000, recently launched a new campaign targeting budget-conscious customers that don’t mind having a robot chanting mantras and reciting sutras, instead of a human priest. The incentive is quite attractive, as a funeral service performed by a Buddhist Pepper robot is priced at just ¥50,000 ($460), significantly cheaper than having a real priest do it.

Nissei Eco has its Buddhist robots wear traditional priest clothing and garments, but admits that their service is primarily aimed at secular-minded customers in search of cheaper alternatives to the traditional rituals associated with death. This endeavor is apparently part of a large-scale campaign to bring innovation to an industry struggling to adapt to changing times.

So, yeah, as if funerals weren’t dark enough already, we now have emotionless robots performing last rites. It’s really hard to imagine what’s next…

Funny you should ask…

The days of simply stuffing a pair of overalls with straw and hanging it in your cornfield to scare away the crows is OVER. A Japanese robotics firm has created a high-tech robo-wolf that is programmed to guard your fields from birds, deer, and wild boars.

The robotic hell-hound is equipped with an infrared ray sensor that lets it detect animals as they approach. When they get to close, the robot activates. The eyes start glowing red, its head moves from one side to the other to create the illusion that it is alive, and it is capable of playing approximately 40 different sounds in rotation, from wolf howling, to human voices and even gunshots, at high volume. And if you don’t trust its intruder detection capabilities, Super Monster Wolf also comes with a timer, so you can program it to activate at certain intervals.

The creators of Super Robot Wolf began testing it at a Sapporo botanical garden called Kaiyuen, in December of last year. Wild animals like deer used to damage the trees and other plants there, in search of food, but ever since the modern scarecrow was installed, incidents decreased by 90%. The farmers of JA Kisarazu-shi also had nothing but praise for their new best friend, saying that there have been no signs of wild animals or birds near their crops since Super Monster Wolf was installed on July 11.

Although technically still in trial phase, Super Robot Wolf has been performing so well that Ohta Seiki has already announced plans to put it on the market in September. Each unit will retail for about ¥200,000 ($1,800). Not the cheapest scarecrow money can buy, but definitely the most advanced one.

4) Dear Donald: Should Kathy Griffin Beg for Forgiveness

Kathy Griffin recently shared that after the infamous photo of her holding Trump’s bloody severed head, she received a letter from someone who claimed to be a CBS executive detailing what she should write in an apology letter to Trump. Hmmm…. This is the letter the “executive” thought Kathy should send to 45:

Dear Mr. President,

Please, I beg you to not stop reading. I have done a terrible thing. I was attempting to appeal to my audience, not thinking of the affect on you and your family. Not thinking how misguided I was. WhatI did was beyond being oblivious to humanity.

I am now being lectured by friends who have supported you, friends who I didn’t want to listen to in the past about you. Now with my world crumbling around me, I am listening for the first time about the great things you have done and are doing. How stupid I was to follow the lies from the “Left”. It took my terrible mistake to finally see the false news. I compounded the lies by creating the ugly, disgusting and horrendous, unspeakable thing, thinking it was funny at your expense or not thinking of the hurt I have caused you and your family, just to possibly get a laugh. How warped and misguided I was. My stupidity is overwhelming.

I do not deserve what I am asking of you. I am begging you to open your heart and forgive me. I have done a terrible thing and I have lost my career and my life. My career is over as I have lost the respect of my audience. I spent my entire life to get to whereverI was in standup comedy, only to lose it forever.

Your forgiveness is to allow me to live my life with my head held high, knowing that I am a good person and forever repenting for the hurt I have caused. Thank you sir for hearing meh [sic] plea.

Respectfully,

Kathy Griffin

3) The Alt-Right’s Tacky Tiki Torches

RESISTOR(S) OF THE WEEK

This week we had two. First up was Jim Acosta from CNN for clapping back at 45 saying “Haven’t you spread a lot of fake news yourself, sir?”

Then Tom nominated Clay Aiken as our resistor, and James St. James had VERY STRONG FEELINGS about this. You’ve got to hear their back and forth! It was like Rosie and Elizabeth on The View all over again!

Listen in at 4:00PM EST and again at 4:00 PST (7 PM EST) on SiriusXM! Or listen whenever you want on the SiriusXM App!

And be sure to give your ears the gift of THE WOW REPORT on Radio Andy SiriusXM EVERY Friday.

The Creeping Horror of Nicole Kidman & Colin Farrell’s New Movie “The Killing of a Sacred Deer”

Steven, a charismatic surgeon, is forced to make an unthinkable sacrifice after his life starts to fall apart, when the behavior of a teenage boy he has taken under his wing turns sinister.

That’s all IMDB gives us about the movie The Killing of a Sacred Deer starring Nicole Kidman and Colin Farrell. The movie is directed by Yórgos Lánthimos, who is just plain nuts – I mean: did you SEE The Lobster? And the trailer below makes almost no sense. People are dropping to the ground with some weird paralysis. A young woman sings a disturbingly bland a cappella rendition of the Ellie Goulding song “Burn.” A teenage boy eats a huge mouthful of spaghetti.

“A surgeon never kills a patient,” Colin Farrell’s character huffs. “An anesthesiologist can kill a patient, but a surgeon never can.”

What does that even mean?

At one point a distraught looking Nicole Kidman expresses doubt: “I don’t understand why I should have to pay the price,” she says “… why my children should have to pay the price.”

As the scenes fly by and intensify, high-pitched, dissonant strings and a rolling timpani creep into the score.

Via Variety:

Yorgos Lanthimos, directed the film from a screenplay that he wrote with Efthymis Filippou. It won the award for best screenplay at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival.

In his review for Variety, film critic Peter Debruge wrote that the director “reveals the profound tragedy in what seems like a perverse horror scenario.”

The Killing of a Sacred Deer hits theaters on Oct. 27.

You probably just need to watch the trailer below and make up your own mind.

Well, MY DEARS, the news is simply to overwhelming to process! Our very own “UNHhhh” superstars Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamolodchikovanoistarivaladadoosomethingsomething are about to become THE BREAKOUT SUPERSTARS of the Fall TV season with a new TV series The Trixie & Katya Show.

Via Deadline:

November 1st @ 10pm marks the premiere of “THE TRIXIE & KATYA SHOW.” Born out of their popular YouTube series “UNHhhh”, which recently landed a coveted spot on Entertainment Weekly’s “Must List” of the Ten Things They Love This Week (EW, 7/28/17). The show is a hilarious hybrid of late night, daytime, and advice shows. Hosted by “RuPaul’s Drag Race” fan favorites Trixie Mattel (Season 7’s breakout, whose elimination remains one of the most controversial in “Drag Race” herstory) and Katya Zamolodchikova (an All-Stars Finalist and Season 7’s “Miss Congeniality”), the girls discuss anything and everything from their distinct points of view. Topics run the gamut from hook-ups and break-ups, fear, God, death and porn, to name a few.

So amazing. So excited. All that nuttiness on TV? CAN THE VIEWING PUBLIC HANDLE SO MUCH INSANITY?

It’s just one of three shows VICELAND is premiering on their Fall schedule, the other two being a skate-documentary series Epicly Later’d, hosted by filmmaker-photographer Patrick O’Dell, and Most Expensivist, a docuseries about the culture of excess hosted by rapper 2 Chainz.

The Trixie & Katya Show is executive produced by Fenton Bailey, Randy Barbato, Tom Campbell, Nelson Walters and RuPaul.

More on this breaking news as it develops.
