Sean Spicer Hates Dippin’ Dots, But LOVES Orbit Gum: Chews & SWALLOWS 35 Pieces a Day Before Noon

That’s what NYMag.com says! And it came from the mouth of Sean Spicer himself in an August 2016 profile in the Washington Post!

355042-5651-ORBIT-CINNAMON-12ct

From the Washington Post:

This is the face of today’s Republican Party: The nose is pinched, the hair is sandy blond, the eyes are intense. But all you really need to know can be seen in the mouth. This is where Spicer’s talent and nervous energy meet. Watch it open wide enough to inhale his phone as he yells at an editor. Behold its versatility, as he at once chastises Trump for calling Mexicans rapists and murderers while also lauding him for calling attention to the issue of illegal immigration. Even when he is not speaking, it works on overdrive, churning through pieces of Orbit cinnamon gum, which he chews and swallows whole. Notwithstanding his line of work, the man just can’t stand a gross-feeling mouth.

“Two and a half packs by noon,” said Spicer. “I talked to my doctor about it, he said it’s no problem.”

That. Is. Weird. And I always heard it stopped you up, but then again I’m no doctor!

I’ve had a little thing for Chris Meloni ever since he humped a refrigerator in Wet Hot American Summer. And ever since then, he’s keep it crazy, sexy, cool, as Olivia Benson’s sidekick on SVU. After a weekend of patriotic nightmares (Inauguration Day) and the resistance party that rocked the world (the Women’s March on Washington), celebrities have been taking to their social media to express themselves on Trump and Meloni shared some positive affirmations about resistancing Trump (and hello chest hair!)

Check it out:

Can I get amen?

Actress Mary Tyler Moore passed away today. Her publicist Mara Buxbaum said,

A groundbreaking actress, producer, and passionate advocate for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Mary will be remembered as a fearless visionary who turned the world on with her smile.”

We reported earlier that Moore had been on a respirator for more than a week. More was first diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 33. The Mary Tyler Moore Show was about an independent young woman working in a Minneapolis TV newsroom. In the show’s memorable opening credits, Moore is seen tossing her beret in the sky as the theme song plays the lyrics,

You’re gonna make it after all.

Moore was already famous at the time as Laura Petrie on The Dick Van Dyke Show. Moore was nominated for a an Oscar for her performance in the critically acclaimed 1980 movie Ordinary People.

She wrote two memoirs, acknowledging she was a recovering alcoholic and became an international spokeswoman for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation as well as becoming an animal rights activist.

Jill Soloway to Male Directors: “Stop Making Movies About Rape”

jill-soloway-variety

Transparent’s creator and overall trailblazer, Jill Soloway, had something to share to Elle about the current climate and history of male directors’ pattern of portraying rape in cinema. She spoke candidly with the magazine about her views, and I can’t give it enough snaps for the clap back.

Check it out:

“I would like to make a blanket ask to cis men to please stop making movies about rape, stop portraying rape. We get it, guys. You want us to stay inside because you want us to be afraid we’re going to get raped. We get it! Stop making movies and TV shows about rape. Let women make those movies if they want to.”

landscape_nrm_1421089899-elle-jill-soloway

“I’m gonna get really deep. We’re gonna talk about Paul Verhoeven for a second. I actually believe they envy our vaginas and our vulnerability, and so they project their desire for their own vulnerability onto women, and then they make films about raping them to be able to experience the feeling of the being-done-to, letting go, which they can’t do as straight men. They have to do the done-to; laminated onto cis male heterosexuality is ‘I do to’ and so they project the ‘done-to’ onto women. They project the ‘done-to’ onto queer people, and they make movies about rape so they can be in the feeling of being ‘done-to’ against their will, which I think is actually their fantasy. And I just want them to stop projecting onto our bodies everything. Kinda deep.”
