Artist Bettie Ringma was 28 years old when she moved to the US from Holland and found herself rubbing elbows with East Village luminaries like Patti Smith, Richard Hell, and Debbie Harry at the legendary ’70s-era punk club CBGB.

A record of this together has been collected in what David Owen, co-founder of London vintage booksellers IDEA Books Ltd, has described as a “Superbook” — a unique work of “cultural significance.” Bettie Visits CBGB contains a group of photos featuring Bettie with CBGB legends and other icons, presented in a folded leather wallet. The work is the subject of a 30-minute episode on Radio Wolfgang, hosted by Owen, featuring interviews with Ringma, Miller, Punk magazine founder John Holmstrom, photographer Roberta Bayley (the door person at CBGB), and more.

Miller, who runs the online exhibition space and shop Gallery 98, offered a closer look at the photos…

Oh yeah, and the time he saw those UFOs in his backyard. “This was probably eight years ago. I was in my backyard in LA, and I looked up at the sky and [saw] three flying saucers. I looked at my friend and said, ‘Are you seeing this, or am I losing my mind?’ He was seeing the same thing. Honey Mahogany:

Honey Mahogany is an international drag performer and budding recording artist. The currently reigning Miss Blow Up USA initially gained worldwide fame as a cast member on season 5 of the reality television show and cult phenomenon, RuPaul’s Drag Race and has since made appearances on America’s Got Talent, American X-Factor, Logo TV’s NewNowNext Awards, and HBO’s Looking.

Honey is a prolific performer and popular MC. Her emceeing chops include Topsy Turvy: A Queer Circus Extravaganza in both 2013 and 2014, The Castro Street Fair in 2014, numerous drag and burlesque shows throughout the Bay Area, and her own weekly drag show in The Castro called Mahogany Mondays at the Midnight Sun.

No stranger to hardwerq, Honey has also appeared in numerous theatrical productions including: Dirty Little Showtunes; Love is Queer: A Queer Circus Cabaraet; Halloween: The Ballad of Michelle Meyers; and also held the title role in Oprah: The Dragsical. Honey has held starring roles in several Peaches Christ Productions including: The Craft and the infamous 16th anniversary of Showgirls. Additional theatrical projects include the Work MORE! Collaborative directed and curated by Mica Sigourney/Vivvyanne Forevermore; and in Fall of 2012 Honey Mahogany performed in Manchester, England in support of trixxie carr: The Right to Rule at the Abandon Normal Devices (AND) Festival, a part of the UK’s Cultural Olympiad.

In 2010 Honey’s premiere single, a cover of Adele’s Hometown Glory was recognized by Limelight, a lead song licensing company, as one of the Best Cover Songs of the Year. Honey’s debut EP Honey Love, a collection of songs written and produced by Honey Mahogany in collaboration with Erik Ian Walker of Wako World Music, was released in February 2014. The single Shoulda Known Better gained national attention when Honey made a cameo appearance performing the song on episode 4 of the HBO series Looking. The music video for that single was shot in the legendary cabaret venue Martuni’s where Honey has also performed Honey Love: Live in Concert.

In 2014 Honey blew up the internet as part of a parody project by Ratchet Productions called IN N OUT MISSION (a parody of Beyonce’s Partition directed by Adrian Anchondo). As a result, Honey’s mug was featured all over the internet including the homepages of Buzzfeed, PerezHilton, Out, HuffingtonPost, DListed, NewNowNext, Uptown, Frequency, and many, many more.

Honey’s flawless looks have also graced the covers of Gloss Magazine, East Bay Express, SF Weekly, and Bay Guardian. In 2011 she was voted Best Drag Queen in the SF Weekly’s Readers’ Poll and selected for the SF Bay Guardian’s Hot Pink List of Queers to Watch in the Guardian’s Queer Issue

Troubled former One Life to Live and As the World Turns star Nathaniel Marston, 40, died in a Reno hospital following the October 30th single-car crash that left him on life support with several crushed vertebrae in his neck and back. Police believe the actor fell asleep at the wheel and flipped his pickup truck several times before he was thrown from the vehicle through the windshield.

Earlier in the week, the actor’s mother said that Marston had suffered complications during surgery on Nov. 4 and believed he would “most likely” live out his life as a quadriplegic.

“His injuries, which Dr.’s did their best to heal were not responding to treatment and one after another his bodily functions failed to support his life,” Marston’s mother said in a Facebook post on Wednesday. “Had Nathaniel lived he would have required a ventilator and would never have been able to utter one more word and would have been sentenced to life as a quadriplegic. A condition that Nate would have never have been able to tolerate. By God’s love and mercy Nathaniel was spared this living hell.”

When 19-year-old Roberta Bernardo of São Paulo, Brazil, noticed a happy-looking potato at the grocery store, she immediately decided to buy it and make it her new BFF.

She bathed it.

Named it “Potato.” Gave it a fabulous makeover.

And began documenting their adventures on social media, where they’ve been shared thousands of times in the last day. Bernardo said she’s shocked by the impact Potato had on Facebook.

Bernardo has been keeping Potato in the fridge so she doesn’t rot.

“Life is ephemeral,” Bernardo told BuzzFeed Brazil. “I believe she will live these moments as if they were the last, enjoying the laurels of fame.”

As you might have noticed, today is Marc Jacobs day at the Wow Report. MJ has been showing his love for RuPaul’s Drag Race and it’s time to give this mogul/fashion genius his props. I’m not going to go through his entire career and every collection, it would wear out even the most seasoned fashion journalist, which am most definitely NOT. I know Marc from the old club days back in the 80s – he’s a few years younger than me but he’s been on the scene just about as long. (He once dated my late friend Scott Fritz) He has done countless runway shows for his own label as well as Louis Vuitton and in a full circle twist, is now my neighbor, just 2 blocks away. (FYI, I’m in a tiny studio, he’s in a new Robert Stern townhouse. Funny, I never see him trudging to the subway…?)

We all know he started with Perry Ellis, did his infamous grunge collection which got him fired and really, the rest is HERstory. He’s not doing Vuitton anymore and he’s split from his longtime business partner, Robert Duffy, and he just may be in the process of reinventing himself. (He’s a big art collector. Hello!?) But just have a look, in no particular order a just a FRACTION of the scores of collections he has turned out. He’s own own stateside Karl Lagerfeld. Not every one has been a home run, but job well-done sir. Job WELL DONE.
