Vh1’s Love & Hip Hop Hollywood is coming back this fall with a new cast member. For the first time in the history of the Love & Hip Hop franchise, the reality drama will feature a relationship between two gay men (YAAASS)—rapper Milan Christopher and his long-distance boyfriend Miles, as Christopher announced in this post via Instagram:

According to a post on TMZ, though, it has been alleged that costars Ray J, Souilja Boy, Mally Mall and Omarion have expressed discontent with the idea of sharing the small screen with the gay rapper, but it’s not because of his sexual orientation. Rather, they don’t find him to be as credible of a rapper, and believe him to have been hired to add some shock value and rack up the season’s ratings. Either way, I’m 100% sure I’ll be tuning in if I get to look at his gorgeous face and perfect body, tbh.

There’s a rather extraordinary solo exhibition of vintage self portrait photographs by gay icon Peter Berlin at the ClampArt gallery in NYC (531 W. 25th St. Ground Floor). Opening night is September 10 from 6-8pm (Peter Berlin will be in attendance!) and it runs through October 10th.

PETER BERLIN aka BARON ARMIN HAGEN VON HOYNINGEN-HUENE (now 72) was an iconic male sex symbol or 3 decades,in  the 1960’s, 70’s and 80’s. His self portrait photography graced the covers of gay magazines, and defined a look that re-imagined a new masculinity among gay men and an emerging gay male culture.

He was an international presence in Berlin, Paris, Rome, New York, Fire Island, and his home of the last 45 years, San Francisco.

PETER BERLIN was self created.  He imagined himself into something akin to a male version of a Russ Meyers bombshell. Tailoring his own clothes to accentuate an already naturally defined physique, every part of his anatomy became showcased.

Cruising was his career, and with a background in photography Peter embarked on recording thousands of self portraits. Influenced perhaps by his distant relative and famed Hollywood photographer GEORGE VON HOYNINGEN-HUENE. Peter became the photographer, stylist, fashion designer, model and printer. All of this fixed in film decades before the advent of today’s quick and easy digital selfie.

No one, other than his good friend ROBERT MAPPLETHORPE, photographed Peter. (other than image above!). He met ROBERT MAPPLETHORPE (before Robert was well known), and they had a life long friendship.  Peter was the subject of 4 Portraits by Robert which are part of the ROBERT MAPPLETHORPE ARCHIVE at the GETTY Musuem in LA.  Peter was also good friends with the late NY clothing designer KOOS VAN DEN AKKER.

PETER BERLIN was a formidable presence of the 1970’s New York zeitgeist. He was often seen at Studio 54, Max’s Kansas City, Christopher Street and it’s piers, strolling the beach at Fire Island Pines, and other hotspots of the time. Peter’s iconic presence and notoriety in New York stirred the attention of both the art and fashion worlds. Andy Warhol offered Peter his FACTORY as a place to create film and photos. Peter was more interested in being on the streets and cruising than networking, and never took Andy up on this offer.

His influential style from the 70’s continues to this day, as seen in the fashions of Jean Paul Gaultier and many others.

This is a solo exhibition of vintage self portrait photographs. Many of the images have been hand-painted and embellished by Peter. There are also contemporary prints available that include scenes of 1970’s New York. Some of these capture the Christopher St. Piers; the rooftop of the Ansonia Hotel and the NYC subway.

Director Jonathan Demme (Philadelphia) told Billboard that Street didn’t use playback during production.

“We’re not sweetening it up on the soundtrack. It’s performance! I have to say with our band – I shouldn’t say it, but I want to say what I feel in my heart – Ricki and the Flash blow away every original,” he said.

Cody Saintgnue (AKA Teen Wolf‘s Brett Talbot and gorgeous male model extraordinaire) was seen yesterday shopping in Downtown, Los Angeles at the French curated fashion & art store, Please Do Not Enter.

If you’re unfamiliar with him, though, World of Wonder’s resident Teen Wolf expert James St. James allowed me to quote him on this very important piece of information: “Cody is the cutest of the new hot young twinks on the show.” Whether or not you agree, I’m sure we can all appreciate the fact that he looked even more like the blue-eyed angel he is by wearing an all-white outfit that was SO cute, it inspired him to have a selfie moment in the store—and then ditch the shirt because everything underneath is way better anyway. Are you ready?

Then, the shirt came off and hearts all over the world started breaking. But apparently Cody couldn’t be bothered. It’s all in a day’s work for him.

Sigh.

This week’s Perseid Meteor Shower is supposed to be one of the best in years, and NASA TV brings you a front row seat. NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, will broadcast a live program about this year’s Perseid meteor shower from 10 PM EDT Wednesday, Aug. 12 to 2 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 13. The event will highlight the science behind the Perseids, as well as NASA research related to meteors and comets. In case you don’t know, the Perseids have been observed for at least 2,000 years. Duh. (I had no idea…?) They are associated with the Swift-Tuttle comet, which orbits the sun once every 133 years. (I missed it last time.) Every August, the Earth passes through a cloud of the comet’s orbital debris. This debris field –mostly created hundreds of years ago– consists of bits of ice and dust shed from the comet which burn up in Earth’s atmosphere to create one of the premier meteor showers of the year.

Ah, Summer 2015, we hardly knew ye. And look, you’re already gone. It was a crazy season, musically speaking. Scizophrenic, almost. When June began, we were inundated with that “Shut Up and Dance” nonsense. And “Earned It” – Good GOD, that was a nightmare. WOULD IT EVER STOP? PLEASE, MOMMY, MAKE IT STOP! Finally it passed. Then, for a long while, there was a lull when we all wondered if the summer would pass by without a song to commemorate it. Finally, mid-July, a slew of other contenders rushed to the forefront. Here they are and here’s my list of the songs of the summer 2015. There will be no arguments. This list is set in stone. Trust me, these are the songs that will make you pull over to the side of the road and sob like a little girl when they come on an oldies station 20 years from now.

When you’re out in the wilderness with Bear Grylls, chances are you aren’t going to be eating any gourmet meals. You know that when you sign up for the gig. On the latest episode of Running Wild, though, poor Michelle Rodriguez got more than bargained for when he made a stew out of her urine and a dead mouse. A STEW. From her URINE. And a DEAD MOUSE. “Its safe to drink pee ‘fresh from the tap,’ so to speak” he said as she handed him a fresh cuppa  –”but if you boil it up it gets rid of any bacteria.” Good to know, Bear, good to know. Later, when he handed her a lightly sautéed rodent bit, she took a bite then screamed: “Ahhhhh you are disgusting. I can’t believe you do this!” But do it he does. He loves that kind of shit.

“Better not let the broth go to waste,” he said as he gleefully chugged her piss.

Yuck. Yuck. Yuck. Although later, to the camera, he admitted that although drinking his piss was fine and dandy, there was something about drinking SOMEONE ELSE’S urine that really got to him. Finally: Something that grosses out old Ironstomach Grylls.

The band is singer Head Ned, keyboardist Red Ned, bassist Thread Ned, guitarist Stead Ned, and drummer (and pseudonym winner) Bled Ned. Head spoke with Rip It Up about the band’s formation.

Myself and our drummer were in line at a grocery store, entertaining ourselves by coming up with really cutesy names for really hardcore, brutal bands. The name Okilly Dokilly came up and was very funny to us. We ran with it. I contacted a few friends, and here we are. Most of us have played in other bands around our hometown. This is definitely the heaviest sounding project any of us Neds have done.

The video goes on to show Nick putting on his robe and having some morning coffee, and telling us that he has a “ginormous” announcement. He told us his new single, “Levels,” drops August 21, and that he’s all set to perform it for the first time on the MTV VMA Pre-Show. Nick is then seen getting into his elevator and stripping off his robe to reveal a new look in a tuxedo. (Well, that was an easy morning.)

The Q ratings are out! The biannually collected Q Scores are best known as a popularity rating — how well-liked, for example, a certain celebrity is among Americans — but also as a measure of their “negative” ratings, or how unpopular they are.

THR has a handy roundup of the stars whose disapproval ratings jumped the most in the past two years. No surprise, Bill Cosby comes out on top of the list, with Ariana Grande at No. 2. One of them has been accused of dozens of sexual assaults stretching back decades; the other is a young woman who once licked doughnuts and said she hated America. (Dr. Oz, Robin Thicke, and Adrian Peterson rounded out the top five.) Grande saw a 26-point bump in her disapproval rating, while Cosby’s jumped 43 points — about twice as much. Neither Cosby nor Grande’s overall disapproval ratings came close to those of Kim Kardashian (71 points) or Justin Bieber (63 points), though.

In Kim’s case, that’s not necessarily a bad thing because that’s how she markets herself – and the number, while negative, is actually a positive marker on the scale of success because it’s a “love to hate” scenario, where the overall negativity is really just a sign of popularity. Or something.

But Justin is just fucked. People REALLY hate him.
